About Us

JRO is an organization focusing on creating a positive impact in the pet industry in a social entrepreneurial way. Mainly, we talk about dogs since we have gathered practical knowledge and experiences from our hardworking team.

Our team consists of Veterinary medical professionals, Dog trainers, experienced pet owners, animal rights activists, and dog enthusiasts. So, we believe in providing accurate and helpful insights, recommendations, and answers to dog parents’ burning questions.

What Problem We Plan To Solve?

We know dogs are one of the most famous pets all around the world. Most dogs have found their loving home and have a decent life with love and protection. However, there are a huge number of dogs who suffer their lives on the streets, looking for food and shelter.

Indeed their lives on the street are really hard since dogs are domestic animals. Unlike exotic animals, dogs cannot make their own shelters or hunt for food. They have to depend on someone else, which makes them highly vulnerable pets. Also, street dogs in major cities are at a high risk of road accidents.

JRO is working hard to create a better life for street dogs by running different projects on a smaller scale in Colombo, Sri Lanka. We feed more than 250+ street dogs daily. Also, we have provided emergency medical help and vaccinations for 2400+, and 400+ permanent homes are found for street dogs.

Permanent Shelters Found

Our plan is to expand our projects more and help them on a major scale. Finding permanent homes for street dogs in Sri Lanka is challenging. Therefore, we plan to build a dog shelter soon.

The revenue from advertisements and affiliate commissions from this website is the main funding method for achieving our targets. Also, we have a few donors who appreciate the hard work we do to create a better world for street dogs. If you are interested in working with us, please write to us using our contact us page.

Our Team

George B. is the founder of the JRO Organization. He believes in creating a better world for domestic animals. He believes domestic animals are more vulnerable than other animals, especially dogs, since they have been used to depending on their owners for generations. So, he started JRO to share his ideas and insights while helping vulnerable dogs worldwide. George runs multiple projects on street dogs in developing countries, especially Sri Lanka.

Lisa W. is a practicing certified veterinarian (BVetMed Hons in Veterinary Medicine) who graduated from Royal Veterinary College, UK. One of her research fields is mixed-dog breeds and their temperament, behavioral issues, and genetic health concerns. Also, she gathers data about purebred dog breeds and their origin, lifespan, and genetic conditions. Lisa is a loving dog parent who is keen to share her expertise with other fellow dog parents.

Dominic P. is a dog behavioral researcher who graduated from the University of Surrey and holds BVMsi (Hons) in Veterinary Medicine and Science. He has been around dogs since childhood and has unconditional love for dogs. It makes him become a researcher instead of practicing as a veterinarian. Dominic enjoys his work and likes to share his findings with dog parents to give them a better understanding of dogs’ behaviors.

Sofia W. is a professional dog trainer who completed Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA and CPDT-KSA) certifications. Also, she has completed the Pet Nutrition Coach Certification. Sofia is interested in creating nutritious food formulas for dogs to give them a longer and healthier life. She believes food and training are a collective combination of a healthy dog.
